City of Richmond pools open on Friday

Richmond’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities will open its eight outdoor public swimming pools for the summer at 1:00pm on Friday, June 13.

The pools are free for the public to use and open Mondays through Fridays from 1:00 until 8:00pm; Saturdays from 12 noon until 5:00pm; and Sundays from 1:00 until 5:00pm.

New this year are Water Smarts classes at the North Richmond’s Hotchkiss pool, provided in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Richmond. These classes are just $10 and are for teens 13 and older and adults, parents and their children, and children ages 6 through 12. For more information or to register for a class, call 646-1441.

Battery Park pool at 2917 Dupont Circle

Hotchkiss Pool at 701 East Brookland Park Boulevard
