On Saturday, May 17th volunteers from downtown businesses, the Phoenix Project, LISC, Elder Homes, Trinity Development, the City of Petersburg and Fort Lee will be joining forces to conduct two major clean-ups within the city.

The Sycamore Sweep will be held on N. Sycamore from Tabb St. to Washington St. and will concentrate on removing debris from streets and storefronts.

The Ross Court Clean Up will focus on cleaning the neighborhood around Ross and Harding Streets.

All volunteers interested in helping ensure that Petersburg becomes the cleanest, neatest, prettiest city in the country are welcome.

Participants will meet in the Courthouse parking lot at Sycamore and Tabb Streets at 8am. Trinity Development and LISC are providing complementary coffee and donuts and cleanup materials. Elder Homes is coordinating the Fort Lee volunteers and providing more supplies and complimentary drinking water for the volunteers.

Although cleanup supplies will be provided, it’s always more comfy to wear your own work gloves, so you can really lend a hand!
