Chocolates by Kelly hosting “soft open” on April 1

Stop by for free samples and other artisan treats from Church Hill’s newest chocolatier.

Chocolates by Kelly‘s new Church Hill location will be having a “soft open” on April 1, in preparation for the grand opening party on April 5.

That means an assortment of goodies for any locals interested in this unique East End shop.

But why a soft open?

“Because,” Kelly said, “I was too impatient to wait for that Saturday.”

Kelly said the soft open will feature free chocolate samples (including adventurous fair like chocolate balsamic vinegar), hot chocolate, and assorted gift boxes for sale.

In preparation for the soft open, the new shop just completed their new window painting, which features Kelly’s existing logo. She decided a painting would fit in with the overall aesthetic of the neighborhood.

“We kept it really simple,” she said. “I wanted to do a painting because it went with the vibe.”

In between preparing for the soft open, the grand opening party and the daily rigors of owning a local business, Kelly is still focused on the art of chocolate.

“It’s important that we’re an artisan chocolatier. everything we sell, we make ourselves.”

Beginning with the soft open on April 1, store hours will be from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM Tuesday through Sunday.
