Child shot in the arm in Whitcomb Court

Police are currently seeking suspects.

The RTD is reporting that a 5-year-old boy was shot in the arm this evening in Whitcomb Court:

Around 6:30 p.m., police responded to a report of random gunfire in the 2300 block of Ambrose Street in Whitcomb Court, Capt. Yvonne Crowder said. A second call reported that a child had been shot…Detectives have made the initial determination that a dispute resulted in shots being fired.

According to WTVR, the boy was hit after an altercation took place during Mother’s Day festivities:

A Richmond boy was caught in the crossfire when gunfire erupted…Detectives said the shots were fired after a fight broke out.

Luckily, all sources are reporting that the boy’s injures were not life-threatening.
