WRIR and Plan 9 Music present ‘Secretly Y’all – Spin Richmond’

The event looks back on 33-1/3 years of Richmond music history through DJs and storytellers.

This Saturday, WRIR-Richmond Independent Radio, in partnership with Plan 9 Music and storytelling collective Secretly Y’all, will present Spin Richmond, an afternoon of music and stories about Richmond’s rich musical history.

The event salutes Richmond music and milestones, both past and present, as Plan 9 clocks 33-1/3 years in retail music and WRIR celebrates 10 years on the air.

It all takes place at Plan 9 Music in Carytown at 3017 West Cary Street on Saturday, April 11th from 3:00-7:oo PM.

From 3:00-4:00 PM, DJ Bill Lupoletti of Global A-Go-Go will spin a selection of vinyl that he has procured from Plan 9 over the past 33 1/3 years, and at 5:30, DJ Fontaine of What the Fontaine?! will treat listeners to some of her favorite local bands and songs. From 4:00 to 5:30, storytellers will share behind-the-scenes tales of Richmond’s many music scenes.

The event marks the opening weekend of WRIR’s 2015 Spring Fund Drive, April 10-21st.

Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.
