According to C3, the lounge is a “place to chill, create, and conference with your companions, colleagues, and clients.” There’s furniture donated by La Difference and a space to enjoy food from Savor Cafe, browse local artwork, hold a company meeting, peruse the creative library, or escape from your home office and be surrounded by other like-minded folks.

I remember the old C3 community space in Shockoe Bottom years ago. It was a unique concept then. I went to my first art breakfasts there, then in their infancy — a gathering of supporters and participants in the art community in Richmond.

C3 is still doing the breakfasts, though in slightly different form. Now attendees can hear from experts, share experiences and take away practical strategies for implementing innovative practices in the work and marketplace. Also held at the Corrugated Box Building, The Breakfast Clubs usually begin at 7:30am and end at 9am and includes breakfast.

On September 23, C3 will host the breakfast club with Will Turner, founder of The 1000 Strong Project. Turner is pulling together visual artists from around the country to make a difference in the lives of children, while helping artists to be more successful. The breakfast will discuss how thinking big and following your passion can make a huge impact. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online.

C3 also offers programs that focus on the following areas:

  • Celebrate and catalyze creativity and innovation in the region
  • Connect people and ideas
  • Recruit and retain talent
  • error
