Your family needs entertaining

It’s such a bummer to have to work in this weather. Here at the office, we’ve been pressed up against windows like miserable children. If you walk by Main and Lombardy, you’ll see one RVANews employee in each window. Man, how creepy is that thought! Anyway, there are various things to do with your family this weekend, including a bike ride, trick or treating, a gourd orchestra, and, of course, kilts.

OMG DANIEL IS REAL

Fred Rogers was a prince among men (and also a King Friday among men), and his death hit some of us hard. Both Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood are on Netflix, so our children have been encouraged with varying degrees of intensity to become fans. Now, you can see Daniel IN THE FLESH (weird). Let the Rogers legacy live on!

OMG MATT WHITE IS REAL

Susan Howson sat across a table from Famous Recording Artist, Touring Musician, and Label Owner Matthew E. White and recorded their conversation. Matt is part of the original RVANews family, and we desperately love making fun of him, and we know that, no matter how big he gets, that sentiment is heartily returned.

An onslaught of live music

The Extravaganza will bring a ton of bands into town to three separate venues, each with a pretty well-curated little lineup! We talked to Mark Osborne from Strange Matter about how this packed weekend of jamz (“jamz” with a “z” distinguishes it from an actual weekend of jam-bands–those weekends do exist! This is not one of them!) fits into the Richmond vibe. Also included, a full line-up with links, some ticket info, and an inexpert one-sentence definition of each venue’s set!
