Firehouse robbed while firefighters out on call

This is new level of low in thievery.

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspect in the photos who stole an electronic device from a firehouse last week.

At approximately 3:05 p.m., the man in the photos rode his bicycle up to Fire Station #17, located at 2211 Semmes Ave., just after firefighters had left on a call for service. The suspect entered through an unlocked rear door and stole an electronic device belonging to a city employee.

The suspect left through the same door, mounted the bicycle in the photo and rode away.

He is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, approximately six feet tall and weighing 220 pounds. He has a beard and dreadlocks and was wearing a t-shirt with the Lowe’s logo.

Detectives ask anyone with any information about this person to call Third Precinct Detective Ryan Nixon at (804) 646-1165 or call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
