I hope the new museum of religious freedom or whatever it is will be economically sustainable.
I hope there is more effort to recycle the building material from what is being torn down than is evident in the picture (which is a great picture, look at how it includes the flags in the background).

I feel like museums are rarely economically sustainable although I’m not sure what you really mean by that. Don’t most rely on donations and grants and whatnot. I would think the hotels would be the critical part?
I live directly next to this site and I’m almost positive that all of that building was discarded. Rough timeline:
Day 1: knock building down
Day 2: put rubble into trucks and carry away
Day 3: fill hole with dirt
Day 4 through current: leave fence and cones everywhere effing up area parking and traffic
Note that at no point does “careful sorting” take place.

BOOOOO RELIGIOUS FREEDOM! BOOOO!
Great picture.
That’s awesome. I mean, the picture, not the destruction of history.
they are rebuilding something better for it in it’s place. So the title is a bit misleading.
MUCK RACKING!
Here is what is supposed to go on the site…
