President Obama should have nationalized and then sold off BP after the Gulf oil disaster.
From Liberty Underground News:
Corporate Crime Reporter has a great piece speculating what will happen to BP for their massive environmental polluting in the Gulf of Mexico last year. Though we don’t expect, at LUV News, executives of a giant transnational corporation to do prison time (this is almost unknown territory), any poor person would get a long prison sentence for doing that of which they are accused– circumventing required safety standards, resulting in eleven deaths. Transocean and Halliburton may also be tried for their parts in various criminal activity leading to the disaster.
10:38 AM Interior Secretary Ken Salazar plans to meet with oil industry execs today amid growing pressure to allow a resumption of deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. More offshore drilling would do little in the short run to boost domestic supplies, but it could help insulate Obama from charges that he is failing to act in the wake of surging oil and gasoline prices.
