Local gal Rozlyn Papa made her debut on ABC’s The Bachelor Monday evening.

Papa, a 28-year-old model/makeup artist (they’re always a slash something), managed to charm bachelor Jake Pavelka enough to earn herself a rose and spot in the next round. But GASP! scandal awaits, as Papa failed to reveal to Jake at their first meeting that she’s divorced and a mother.

(I’m not sure why that’s scandalous, but the promos sure made it out to be.)

I’ll definitely be watching next week. I’ve got to support my hometown girl, what what!

Rozlyn Papa had an affair with one of the producers on the show – presumably for more “airtime”, and both were asked to leave.

She banged a show producer. That’s the scandal

  4. I’m only going off of what was on the promo. I don’t want to suggest that she did without having solid, drawn-out-for-an-hour proof from ABC.

Ooooh, I heard about the Bachelor scandal involving a contestant who slept with a producer, but I didn’t realize it was a local! Leave it to a Richmond girl to get all slutty on national TV.

    j/k…..sort of…..

You have NO clue what happened and you’re all dogging her like you know. Start paying attention to ABC’s B/S – all these voice overs – they will not show a real situation where anyone who would really know says she was “having sex” with anyone. All Chris H. says is the relationship was inappropriate, meaning they aren’t allowed to speak to the people on the other side (camera men, producers, etc.) AT ALL. It doesn’t mean sex, Chris doesn’t say that – why? Because he could get sued, because it’s made up for TV. Wake up people.

I will tell you now, Rozlyn is the girl that is kicked off the show next week for what Chris Harrison will deem as “inappropriate behavior in the context of the show”. Which is a perfect description since he technically never mentions a sexual affair. Why? Because there never was one. They just use one of the other contestants to voice over the now infamous, “She’s having a sexual affair with someone in the house”. Way to cover your asses. Just ask someone else to say it as speculation, then boot Rozlyn without any proof. Like I said, come back tomorrow for the full story of why Rozlyn was really booted from the show and the producer who was also fired. Was there “inappropriate behavior within the context of the show”? Yes, there was. But it had nothing to do with sex, or hooking up, or any physical contact whatsoever. Next week, ABC will show you their concocted storyline to draw ratings. RealitySteve.com has all the facts to back up what really happened. Just like Jason’s season when I was right from day 1 on what happened at the “ATFR 1″ taping, I have no reason to lie to you about this. I will tell you what happened and you can either choose to believe me or ABC’s bogus storyline to generate interest in a rather boring season.

The ironic thing is that Rozlyn actually gets a rose early in the episode next week on the In Style Photo Shoot group date. And why wouldn’t she? She’s a model and probably one of the three best looking women this show has ever seen. So she’s already set to continue on, then something happened behind the scenes, ABC throws her under the bus, kicks her off the show, and fires the producer. I feel bad for her since what really happened has actually happened in the past to a former contestant. Someone that readers of this column are very familiar with. Almost the same exact situation actually. As far as roses for next week, Rozlyn gets one on her group date at the photo shoot, Elizabeth gets a rose during her group date to Magic Mountain, and Ali gets a 1-on-1 date in a helicopter, and she receives a rose at the end of that.

And I fully expect ABC to run their spin control and keep Rozlyn’s mouth shut. Obviously if they’re going to tell the world next week she is being booted for “inappropriate behavior within the context of the show”, and then once she’s gone scream “sexual affair” by having the other girls in the house blurt it, of course they’re never gonna let her tell her side of the story because it would go against their storyline. If it actually happened, they’d show the footage, they’d play audio of them, SOMETHING, ANYTHING, that would incriminate them. But of course they don’t. The biggest sex scandal this show has ever had, yet next week, the only thing you’ll hear about it is a couple girls giving voice overs mentioning it in conversation. With cameras and boom mikes running essentially 20 hours a day at the mansion, how in the world would they not have something like that caught on video or audio tape? Exactly. Because it never happened. Let’s think logically everyone. Seriously. Do you really believe on a show like that with so many women in the house and producers, PA’s, and interns running around that two people could actually sneak off and have a sexual affair? C’mon.

Way to go ABC LIES! You other people Do a little research before you start hating on one of our own! There was no sexual affair and ABC nor it’s representatives will say there is anything sexual going on. It’s a storyline for ratings and I for one am disappointed that a Richmonder would be so gullable and quick to judge and making all Virginians look like Podunk thoughtless viewers. And so what if she did? She has my support no matter what. I thought she was hilarious on episode one, totally called it like she saw it, never said a bad word about anyone behind their back and she seems to be the only one that doesn’t wreak of desperation. TEAM ROZLYN!!!

  12. I personally enjoyed Rozlyn. She seemed way less kooky than the others. (Michelle, I’m looking at you.)

  13. A nearly 600 word comment on reality TV! That’s longer than most papers I wrote in high school (insert your own joke about my high school here). Awesome!

  14. Ha. I think Debra P sums it up with: “This poor girl may be getting the shaft.” Indeed. Sorry, I’m 11.

  15. Oh come on, this is why people watch these shows, and why people are on these shows. Who really expects to fall in love on a reality dating show? And why shouldn’t she have fun with a producer? I’m not saying she did, just asking why that would be such a big deal, considering the bachelor is romancing all those women at once. More power to her.

  16. Elizabeth on said:

I personally knew Rozlyn in high school. I’m just going to say when there is a rumor some truth usually comes out of it. She did have a husband and child and from what I’ve heard she deserted them both. Would have been rooting for her had she not left her own child.

  17. What Beth said.

    Controversial viewpoint:

If you willingly place yourself in the realm of celebrity you enter into an unspoken agreement that your person-hood is going to be subverted. People that go on the internet and try to defend television personalities (especially of the reality show ilk where the person knowingly seeks celebrity) are completely moot.

I once got lambasted on my blog for saying something speculative about Heath Ledger’s demise (during which I was lauding on his acting ability) and someone got so in a huff about it they wrote a small essay in response (see above Grace Murphy).

So, I guess my point is that there’s no point to arguing about this because everyone knows that reality tv is the knew professional wrestling, and we all remember what kind of folks argue about pro wrestling’s validity and basis in reality.

Sounds like that 600 word comment above from Grace Murphy is actually Rozlyn herself. Too many details. Rozlyn thinks she’s more than what she actually is. True Beauty comes from within and that’s definately not Rozlyn. She is shallow. I bet she doesn’t have many friends.

  24. Courtney on said:

Guys, Grace Murphy’s response was copied and pasted from a blog post at RealitySteve.com, so keep that in mind for all the people making posts about her taking the time to type all that… and she’s right. I’ve followed Reality Steve for a couple of seasons before this one, and he has good sources because he knows a lot of what is going on before it even airs, and he’s proven right. If you listen closely, you will see no proof offered of a sexual affair, and no mention of it except for a voiceover by one of the other women in the house, who is just speculating.

Don’t believe everything you see on “reality” TV!

  25. ehh... on said:

obviously reality tv thrives on scandal…any one participating in the show and anyone watching the show knows that. so it is understandable that rumors would reaaaaaaaally be exaggerated, in order to get more ratings.
however…i dont know why anyone isnt mentioning this…but if nothing ‘serious’ happened, why would Rozlyn walk out without even an argument? She never says that she is there for Jake, she never says that she and the staffer were just good friends…she never defends herself! Perhaps thats because ABC edited those parts, but I think if there was no justification for her being sent home, Rozlyn would have shown more emotion. And thats not to mention the fact that she was already keeping a divorce and 7 year old child a secret from Jake. Eh. Whether any of this is true or not, it makes for good tv anyway!

Here’s my two cents worth. I was on a “reality” show once myself. And let me confirm the suspicions..it’s not exactly reality. There’s prompting, takes and retakes, hours and hours of filming, and of course don’t forget the fact they edit everything before airing. I remember seeing an episode I was on and the comment I made was even for the situation at hand! They reroute things to fit into a “dramatic” storyline. Ask yourself..why would a reality show need a writer?? They come up with ideas to make things more interesting and juicy to please the viewers. Sometimes we were up for hours, and the exhaustion was overwhelming, creating even more drama because your brain and body are screaming for a shutdown.
Have you noticed the name of this producer hasn’t been released? And why is that? I mean it may have and I just haven’t found it, I’m not exactly well known for my investigative skills!
I’m not saying this incident did or didn’t happen, I’m just saying that I happen to know a bit about reality television, and things aren’t always as they seem. I believe that the show manipulated Rozlyn and made promises that weren’t kept. It happened to me. The show I was on put so much strain on my relationship that it ended, sadly.
As enteretaining these shows may be, try to keep in mind that ratings are top priority, and of course money is always up there as well. I’m not defending anyone’s actions. I’m just giving my opinion!

  27. This whole mess with Rozlyn is such a crock of crap, it’s not funny. ABC, the production crews and the person who designed this show: M.F. you know who you are, have allowed this show to turn into the garbage and total farce that it has become.
The whole show is scripted, fake and BS. ABC network is a joke and the one big dog is a total slime ball (evidently – likes to have his piece of these ladies) before his “bachelor” contender gets his own piece! Hey, I didn’t make that reference – Reality Steve did (and since he has the inside track on this show) go talk to him about it, since he basically called Mike Fleiss a “hard up, dirt bag” last week in his column! Common news around Hollywood evidently, that he is. Hmm, is that a suprise, NO!!
As for Rozlyn, she didn’t withhold anything. ABC violated her rights as a human being and they’ve contrived this whole show to make her look bad – but for those of us – who know the truth, we will stand behind her in her battle to bring this show down and take it off the air for good – because even the loyalest viewers are trying to make ABC that they’re just sick and tired of the phoneyness now.
ABC and Mike Fleiss, get a life! Let this show die and then all of you can better concentrate on the show that keeps you alive: Extreme Home Makeover!
Mike Fleiss, you need to get a life, period – and then – get a real job. Better yet, why don’t you go spend some time in Iraq and in Trashcanistan with our troops and see what the REAL world is about and then, if you don’t get your head – and your gonads shot off (or better yet) come back in a pine box, maybe then – you’ll learn how to make a tv show (about couples reality and romance) the way it should be – and not the BS garbage – you’re trying to shove down peoples throats, now! Personally, I vote to see how long you last in a combat zone – because honestly – you’d be there five minutes and be crying to go back home!

  28. who gives a rats ass!
