  • University of Virginia fired head football coach Al Groh, buying out the remaining two years of his contract for $4.3M. Rumored replacements: [ur]Mike London[/ur] from UR, Chris Petersen from Boise State, and even Charlie Weis from Notre Dame.
  • [vuu]VUU[/vuu] loses another away game to the Chowan University Hawks, 75-72. The Panthers are now 1-4 in games away from Barco-Stevens Hall. VUU falls to 2-4.

    Groh is an ass if he takes another dime from them. On the other hand, if that means UVA will have $4.3M less for it’s athletic program, then that’s good news for this Hokie fan.
