28th Street Community Garden opening

Sustainable East End Development – Church Hill (SEED-CH) is opening a new Community Garden at 28th & Tate Streets near Woodville ES:

This garden is first of many we hope that will serve the local community which does not have access to fresh produce and healthy food. This garden will be free and serve as a community space encouraging discussion on family, social and economic justice.

The opening is on November 12th from 11:30-4:30. We are looking for folks to donate meat for the grill or side salads and healthy side dishes! Please let us know if you would be willing to cook something or donate toward this cause and we would be happy to pick it up from you! Thank you for your continued support of gardening in Richmond for everyone

Union Hill Neighborhood Clean-up

Help beautify RVA! Wear sturdy shoes, and bring your own water bottle and gloves if you have them. Free snacks and beverages, as well as disposable gloves, trash pickers, and bags will be provided. Meet at O and N 20th St.

City Council Formal Meeting

Every 2nd and 4th Mon – Responsible for deciding official Council action, which includes discussing, adopting, rejecting, and amending laws and approving the budget. Formal meetings include a time for pubic comment and are televised live on the local PBS station and are replayed in Richmond on Government Access Channel 17, beginning at Noon and 7:00 p.m. daily.

Frequency
Typically the second and fourth Monday of each month; 6:00-8:30 p.m. (With the exception of August, when no Formal meetings are held, and holidays)

The RVA Hoop Lovers are in Chimborazo Park each Thursday night from 7pm-Sunset at the large gazebo. The RVA Hoop Lovers bring piles of hoops, music, and loads of energy to share with everyone that would like to join in on the fun, and learn more about Hoop Dance. We’ve been having a BLAST
