We are so excited about the next few events that are coming down the road. If you do not know of the youth programs that are beginning in Gillies Creek Park, we have a lot to be grateful for. Wyatt Kingston and Josh Daniels are facilitating a bike program, horse shoe program, and teaching the kids lacrosse. We are so grateful for their work and service to the community. You all are truly a blessing. They are in the initial stages of outreach and implementation, but I was down there yesterday talking to some of the kids and watching them ride their bikes on the bmx track and it was truly amazing.

We are also hosting two community visioning days on Monday and Tuesday at the Neighborhood Resource Center from 8am to 8pm. We were so happy with the turnout and the open discussion of ideas in our community visioning days at the Powhatan Recreation Center. We hope that you all will come, drop by, and continue the conversation on Monday and Tuesday Nov. 8th and 9th.

It is almost time to begin organizing around some of these very important issues. We will be facilitating an organizing workshop for folks who are interested in being a part of this change process. This is an initiative in which community members will be leading, governing, and fundamentally shaping the direction that we will be heading. This is the time when we begin to make change, and we can only do it together. Please come out to our organizing workshop on Nov. 16th from 6pm to 9pm. The location will be announced within the next two days. Keep your eyes peeled.

Thanks to all who have attended meetings, given people rides, passed out fliers, knocked on doors, and let their voice be heard!! This is truly an exciting and inspiring time to be in the Greater Fulton community. It’s only going to get better. To all of you, we are truly grateful.
