If you’re a “last minute” kind of person, then get ready…with less than one week of registration left, the Monument 10k is over 90% full. Not only is the race the fourth-largest 10k in the country, but there are some great cash prizes available for locals to win.

If you want to register for this year’s Monument Avenue 10k you better move your butt—it’s now over 90% full with under one week to register.

Online registration for the March 31st event will be open through Tuesday, March 27th at 11:59pm. Organizers will cap the event at 42,500 registrants.

If you need a some incentive to register, listen to this: for the second consecutive year, the Monument 10k will offer a local division and will reward prize money to the top finishers that live and train in Richmond. The top local male and female racers will win $500. Second and third place gendered finishers will win $300 and $100, respectively.

When was the last time the 10k didn’t sell out? I vaguely remember in years past that it would sell out weeks before the start.
Is the race too big? Just to difficult to find parking and get to the start? Don’t want to wait to run till 9:30 or 10:00?
