The Dads releasing a second album

If you we’re around Richmond in the early 80’s you probably heard this band.

It’s worth reading The Dads rock band Fan page to get a full history of the band but those that already know The Dads will only care about one thing, a new album is coming out.

The Dads were from Richmond, Virginia. Together from 1981 until late 1985. Had a recording contract with CBS but the first album was poorly produced and mixed. The band never recovered from the bad album experience. However, other live and studio recordings are notable. Band members included Bryan Harvey, David Ayers, Kevin Pittman and Mike Tubb.

HUGE charity event to celebrate the release of the long, long overdue Dads second album (CD) named “Redemption” AND the 35th anniversary of the founding of The Dads AND a celebration of the lives of Bryan Harvey and Victor Benshoff with a very special remembrance of Peter Bell. There will also be a silent auction as well as CD’s, t-shirts and other stuff for sale.

A majority of the proceeds from ticket sales, silent auction proceeds, and CD sales will be donated to the Harvey and Benshoff families for them to contribute to charities of their choice.

Along with a few original Dads, a host of musicians from a variety of well known Richmond bands are going to donate their talent to play both songs from the 1st album as well as songs from the new release, “Redemption”

This event is going down on Friday, November 27th at The Canal Club. Tickets are all ages, only $10 and can be purchased here.

“Redemption”will available on CD at the show and at Plan 9 Music. All money generated from the concert, a silent auction and CD sales will go to theHarvey and Benshoff families to support charities of their choice. A crowd-funding campaign to offset production costs of “Redemption” is at indiegogo.com/projects/thedads1980#.
