Registration deadline for voting in upcoming primary is on Monday the 8th

If you want to vote you need to get registered.

In 2012 there were 5,428,833 registered voters and of those 71.78% voted or 3,896,846. In 2015 those numbers dropped to 5,196,436 and 29% or 1,509,864. What a difference a presidential election makes. Well, we’re in the presidential cycle again, and many folks need to get their voter registration back in order.

Your important dates for the coming electoral process:

  • Next General Election or Primary: Tuesday, March 1, 2016
  • Deadline to register to vote: Monday, February 8, 2016
  • Deadline for absentee ballot by mail application: 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2016
  • Deadline for absentee ballot by appearing in-person: 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016
