Police searching for suspected coat and credit card thief

Have you seen the man in yellow?

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspect in the attached photo who stole a coat and a credit card this month.

Between approximately midnight and 1 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, a coat was stolen from a restaurant in the 2700 block of West Broad Street. The coat contained several items, including a credit card.

The male in the photo and video is seen attempting to use the card in a Wawa on Sliding Hill Road in Ashland. The photos and the video were captured on the store’s surveillance cameras.

The suspect is a white male who wore a yellow sweatshirt, knit cap and sunglasses.

Detectives ask anyone with any information about this man’s identity to call Third Precinct Detective Eric Sandlin at (804) 646-1010 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
