Owners of closed Nesbit salon now facing lawsuit
You can put down the scissors but the rent is still due.
Nesbit salon closed earlier this month with no warning to its customers, employees, and as is now apparent its landlord. Thing is about landlords is that when you sign a lease you’re expected pay them the money that the lease stipulates. Owners of Nesbit Salon, Carol and Greg Nestor along with Salon Pro of Richmond Inc. are on the hook for a fairly hefty chunk of change.

Advance Building Construction, a Richmond general contracting firm, owns the building and is seeking a judgment of $185,000, including $143,000 in rent due for the remainder of the lease.
Richmond lawyer Rob Smith is representing the landlord and filed the suit in Richmond Circuit Court on Oct. 21.
“The allegations speak for themselves,” Smith said.
Salon Pro Inc., under which the business operated, renewed the lease on the Fan space in 2012 for five years. The lease called for $52,913 in annual rent, according to the suit. The Nestors are guarantors on the lease, the case claims.

Nesbit Salon had two landords. 2309 W. Main is owned by Advanced Building Construction and 2311 W. Main is owned by Michael Wood, who also happens to be previous owner of the business that sold in 2007.
