Dog centric day on Brown’s Island

Has your dog been pestering you to take him to a dog festival?

The Richmond Times-Dispatch and Richmond.com are partnering to create a new dog-focused and dog-friendly event called Fido Fest. Fido Fest will take place on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 on Brown’s Island from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will feature the nationally recognized dog act, The Olate Dogs, 2012 winners of America’s Got Talent.

Fido Fest is an all-day, interactive and family festival that brings together owners and dogs for activities including:

• Performances from Olate Dogs; 2012 winners of America’s Got Talent
• Live music throughout the day featuring: Party of Four, 20 Somethang and Vinyl Headlights
• Interactive areas for owners and dogs to enjoy time together
• Demonstrations from specialists at the Richmond SPCA
• Lots of great dog-related vendors
• Food from some of RVA’s most loved restaurants and food trucks
• Beer, wine and plenty of non-alcoholic beverages

Admission to Fido Fest is only $5 in advance (purchase tickets) and $10 at the door. Children 12 and under and your furry friend are free. A portion of the proceeds from Fido Fest will benefit the Richmond SPCA.
