From the RPD Press Release:

WHAT: Richmond Police Department Community Walk
WHEN: 6 p.m. today, May 26, 2015
WHERE: 2048 Creighton Road (near North 29th Street)

Chief Alfred Durham and the Department’s Command Staff will join First Precinct Sector 113 Lt. Mike Alston for a walk through the Creighton Court neighborhood this evening.

Officers will meet at the above location and spread out from there to converse with residents about safety concerns they may have and what they would like to see more of from the Richmond Police Department.

Over the last year, instances of violent crime have not increased, turning the focus toward a rise in property crime in the area of Creighton Court.

“We have seen an increase in property crime for the area compared to the same period last year,” Lt. Alston said. “We are encouraged that there has been no rise in violent crime. We’d like to maintain the reduction of violent incidents while combating the burglaries and thefts we have seen.”

This event is the latest in a series of monthly community walks conducted by the Richmond Police Department in neighborhoods throughout the city.
