Car chase ends in crash, arrest, and multiple charges from multiple police forces

A 15 minute chase ends with an arrest, two charges, and four possible warrants.

RTD has the story on Tarvares S. Brown, 32, of Richmond, who instead of pulling over for a traffic violation decided to lead Richmond police on a chase that ended with a crash in Richmond.

It started around 4:00 PM near North Avenue and Laburnum Avenue when Mr. Brown was seen speeding in a gold Mercedes SUV. It all came to an end 15 minutes later with a crash into a fence near Rennie and Hawthorne Avenue.  Mr. Brown was arrested and a weapon was discovered.

The list of charges/warrants are impressive:

  • Henrico police a traffic violation and a charge of eluding police
  • Virginia State Police are obtaining warrants for possession of a firearm as a convicted felon and assault on a law enforcement officer
  • Richmond police are obtaining warrants for providing false information to law enforcement and traffic violations
