Amelia Street School teacher named Richmond Teacher of the Year

Ms. Marchetti is now in the running for Regional Teacher of the Year.

Catherine Marchetti has been teaching at Amelia Street School for three years as  an early-childhood exceptional educational teacher. She was among 46 teacher that were nominated for the honor of Richmond Teacher of the Year.

She was selected as winner last night during a ceremony at the Crowne Plaza hotel and Ms. Marchetti is now in the running for Regional Teacher of the Year.

RTD reported the following.

Marchetti kept her remarks brief, but offered more in the written nomination submitted by her school.

“I firmly believe that every child, regardless of developmental ability, has the potential to learn and succeed,” she said in her nomination. “Children with disabilities or delays need to be instilled with a high quality education and a love of learning as a way of helping them to develop and demonstrate their unique potential and abilities.”
