Short film documents Rappahannock’s oyster farming

Virginia’s oyster population now thrives after near decimation.

The second installment1 in Fourth Line Films‘ “Common•wealth series”, which explores how Richmonders inhabit our natural world, documents how owners of Rappahannock River Oyster Co. and others employed innovative aquaculture techniques that are strengthening a once nearly depleted Chesapeake Bay oyster population:

The short film comes just as Virginia’s public oyster season began on October 1st, running through May 31, 2015.
