Meat Top Pick

Nature’s Promise whole chicken $1.39/lb at MARTIN’S

Veggie Top Pick

Ears of corn $.50 each at Ukrop’s

Fruit Top Pick

Whole cantaloupe $.99 at Kroger

Dairy Top Pick

Kroger cream cheese (8oz), cottage cheese(12-16oz), or sour cream (12-16oz) $1

Staples Top Pick

My husband is a Tabasco addict. He brought a bottle along on a mission trip to Belize, and I keep a mini bottle stashed in my purse for emergencies (like when he requests Tabasco at a restaurant and the server brings him Texas Pete!). This week 2-oz bottles of Tabasco sauce on sale for $1 at Kroger. Last Sunday’s SmartSource insert (4-25) had a coupon for $.50 off, which doubles to make it free after coupon!

Snacks & Sweets Top Pick

Healthy Choice and Marie Calendar’s frozen entrees are on sale for $2 at Kroger this week. Plus you receive a free 48-oz Kroger Deluxe (ooh-la-la) ice cream when you buy 5. The deal would be ho-hum except that I found a blinkie coupon dispenser with “$5 off 5 Healthy Choice” coupons. If there are similar coupons in your store’s frozen section, you can get five Healthy Choice meals AND one ice cream for only $5.

Beverage Top Pick

Coke 12-packs just $2.67 at Kroger (3 for $8, limit 3), plus receive 2 free boxes of Ritz when you buy 3! Ritz Munchables Pretzel Crisps are included, so you could use two $1 Munchables coupons from 3/28 or 3/14 SmartSource inserts to get 3 packages of Coke and 2 boxes of Ritz for $6!

Household Top Pick

Basic Colgate toothpaste and toothbrushes are $.99 at Ukrop’s this week (if you can find them in stock). With $.75 coupon from Sunday’s SmartSource, you can get toothbrushes for $.25, or better than free if you’re shopping today.

Hey Steve: UNTRUE. Velocity Comics (904 West Broad Street) is also participating.

I looked on the national free comics day website and they only listed 3 local stores. Velocity should advertise so they are slighted by uninformed people like me.

  4. Anyone know where I can buy a coupon organizer locally? Kroger doesn’t carry one.

Try like a marshalls or TJ maxx.
