This week appears to be all about the “mix-and-match for extra savings” deals. It gets a bit confusing when there are multiple promotions at each grocery store…

Ukrop’s:

  • Get 5 participating meats (marked with yellow dots) for $25
  • Save $5 when you purchase $20 of participating General Mills products

Kroger:

  • 10 Item Mega Event – Save $5 when you purchase 10 participating items, like Breyers ice cream and Healthy Choice entrees
  • Save $5 when you purchase 10 participating Hormel items

And today marks the inaugural opportunity for $.99 double coupons at Ukrop’s!

Meat Top Pick

USDA Choice boneless chuck roast for $1.99/lb at Kroger. Also, Ukrop’s is promoting a “5 for $25” deal this week – Buy any 5 yellow dot meats for $25 (lesser quantities regular price). I haven’t had a chance to scope out the best bets, but meats include shrimp, ham, pork chops, prepared meals, etc.

Veggie Top Pick

$1.50 for Classic Dole bagged salads at Ukrop’s, or Fresh Selections Garden Plus salads at Kroger.

Fruit Top Pick

Organic Bartlett pears are $1.69/lb at Ukrop’s.

Dairy Top Pick

16-oz Cottage cheese or sour cream are $.88 at Kroger.

Staples Top Pick

Merita Butterbread for $.88 from Ukrop’s (with Savings Spot coupon, limit 4)

Snacks & Sweets Top Pick

10 jars of Chi-Chis salsa for $10 at Kroger – sale priced $1.50 each, with $5 off when you buy 10. Can be mixed & matched with other participating products, such as Chi-Chis flour tortillas ($1.50 each before extra savings), Dinty Moore Beef stew ($2.49), Hormel sliced bacon ($3.00), and yes folks, Spam ($2.23)!

Beverages Top Pick

At Target, receive a $5 gift card for purchasing 5 jugs of Mott’s apple juice (64 oz) or 6-packs of single-serve Mott’s applesauce, both priced $1.75.

Household Top Pick

There is a coupon for free Freshpet Homestyle Select dog food in the Ukrop’s circular. Even if you don’t have a dog, I’m sure friends or an animal shelter would appreciate it.
