RTD dines at Akida’s new location in the Museum District
Food reviewer Marissa Hermanson says the former Fan spot shines in its new location on North Sheppard Street in the Devil’s Triangle.
From the Richmond Times-Dispatch:
When I first moved to town, I drove past Akida Japanese Restaurant’s lackluster facade for months before I knew what delicious treasures were tucked inside. One day for lunch, I moseyed into the Robinson Street den, and after my first meal of salad with buoyant ginger dressing, a satisfying sushi roll and a teriyaki salmon dish, I was smitten.
I found myself coming back to the Asian hole-in-the-wall time and again for its well-priced lunch specials ranging from teriyaki dishes to fresh sushi and sashimi.
Akida’s new space shines a fresh perspective on a restaurant that has consistently created standout sushi and delectable Japanese dishes. The feel of the restaurant now matches the loveliness and authenticity of its cuisine, and makes you want to come back to try more dishes and — better yet — push your culinary limits.
