I am a die-hard Redskins fan but I have to say that I am amazed at how fast the city can get this done but can’t seem to find the resources for our own baseball team?? I am excited about this training camp – and will be following the news closely to see when I can go see my Redskins practice but if this can be done so quickly and efficiently (minus the tree debacle) why does it take so much effort to get anything else in my beloved Richmond accomplished????

@Scott – that link is funny at best. Get over it. There is a tone of private capitalist money behind this and the portion paid for by taxes has already elevated RVA, will do so so much more during training camp, and will be paid back anyway. The stoopid conspiracy bs is over, go back to your witch hunt on the useless brick wall by Tredegar. Keep spinnning your anti-growth-and-prosperity wheels with NO results. You are an angry person who tries to take his anger out any anything related to success and progress. Silly activists…go crawl in hole and wait until there is a real issue concering city money…there are plenty out there. Better yet, move to some crunchy tiny town that doesn’t have the involvement of all these pesky big business interests….that actually make this city.

…and I am not a skins fan….but love this project being here in RVA.

What is “a tone of private capitalist money”?

If there is so much private money, why do they need public money in the first place?

If this is such a great capitalist scheme, then what is the planned ROI (return on investment) for the public money? That is the point of Better Government ‘s inquiry. You know, in REAL big towns, these questions get answered much more easily. If Richmond wants to grow up and play in the big leagues, then it has to face these responsibilities.
