Love Your Co-op Fundraiser on Friday

Support efforts to open a member-owned, full service, local and organic grocery store.

The Richmond Food Co-op will host its first annual “Love Your Co-op” fundraiser on Friday, March 28th, 2014 at Gallery5, 200 West Marshall Street, from 7:00pm – 10:00pm.  The event has been rescheduled from its original date in February.

Event emcee will be Donna Steele of the Coalition Theater, with music by Obscurity Exchange Commission & The Hullabaloos.  Balliceaux, Cabot Creamery, and Dutch & Co. will provide complimentary hors d’oeuvres for the evening, alongside a cash bar.  Entrance is $5 for members of the Richmond Food Co-op and $10 for non-members.

In a unique take on the traditional date auction, “Love Your Co-op” will feature both a live and silent auction, with services and goods from local artisans and suppliers.  Items include a private meal from Broad Appetit winner Chef Casey Hues; a retreat to Smith Mountain Lake; Day on the Farm from Lockhart Family Farm; tickets to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden; artwork by Richie Collins, Rita Root, and Matt Genier; and skills workshops on home brewing, photography, and language arts.

All proceeds will be benefit the Richmond Food Co-op’s capital campaign.  The Co-op will be a member-owned, full service grocery store, with a concentration on local and organic produce and products.
