Blue Bee Cider tasting at Harvest tonight

Try a local cider.

According to Facebook you’ll have a chance to try Blue Bee Cider at newly opened Harvest Grocery (1531 W. Main Street) tonight from 5 PM to 7 PM. Blue Bee Cider is the only urban cider maker in Virginia and headquartered just across the river in Manchester. I’d double check the previous links before heading out since spots are closing left and right ahead of the storm.

If you haven’t had their cider you’re in for a treat. It is much more comparable to a champagne than the super sweet ciders coming out of most of the local taps.

Blue Bee will likely have their “Aragon 1904: A light, crisp, off-dry cider made from a blend of modern and heirloom apple varieties” and “Charred Ordinary: An old-fashioned Virginia cider made from heirloom variety apples. Gently sparkling, dry and sharp on the palate.”
