Tuesday game night is here for your gaming fix

Bargain of the century this weekend picked up and unplayed Settlers of Catan at a book sale for $1.

Near as I can figure out by digging through the RVANews archives H&H Game Night started around the start of April. That means we’ve been gathering nearly every week for over a year. That is a lot of board games.

I’m proud of the Weekly H&H Game Night. My family has met a diverse group of folks that we can now call friends and been re-introduced to the hobby of board gaming. Plus we’ve introduced new games to folks and have heard them going out to buy it later and spreading the board game joy.

Last week I’m ashamed to admit to being a little angry when I read this thread on the RVA Reddit about another Tuesday night game night at Triple Crossing Brewery. How dare anyone take my idea and hold a game night on the same night. My moral indignation was astounding. Then I came to my senses or as close to my senses as I ever get. It dawned on me that this is awesome. More options to play great games and meet great people with similar hobbies is a wonderful thing. If you can’t make it to Crossroads consider Triple Crossing for your Tuesday gaming needs. Just noticed the similarities in names, quite the coincidence.

I’m even considering scaling back H&H Game night to twice a month and testing out the waters in another gaming pond. So my loyal gaming readers what do you think?

I’d love to see it at a place a little different than Crossroads!

  2. When I was pondering the idea of game night I was thinking of a rotating location but couldn’t think of any other spots. Legend no real options for people that don’t want beer plus possible schedule conflicts, taZa doesn’t stay open late, O’Toole’s surprisingly gets packed some nights, and Maldini’s just too formally laid out. I’m trying to find out how the game night at Triple Crossing went and we may alternate locations. Where were you thinking?

Had fun last night playing Suburbia.
