The Paredes Foundation holding festival and butterfly release Saturday

The foundation will release butterflies purchased in loved ones’ honor or memory at the Innsbrook lake.

The Ellen Shaw de Paredes Foundation, an organization that aims to save lives through early detection and education about breast cancer, is hosting a fun family event this Saturday.

The Festival Day and Lakeside Adventure Walk will take place Saturday, May 31st from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the non-profit’s offices at 4480 Cox Road in the Innsbrook Corporate Center.

The focal point of the event will be a butterfly release. You can purchase a butterfly in honor or memory of a loved one, to be released behind the foundation offices, near the Innsbrook lake.

The event will also include music, face painting, butterfly wings and kits, tattoos, crafts and games and performers. Food and drink will also be available.

Proceeds from the Festival Day and Lakeside Adventure Walk will help the organization provide mammograms to underserved women in the Richmond area.

Many other local non-profits are participating in the event along with the Paredes Foundation, including The Children’s Museum of Richmond, Our Laughter in the Rain, Komen for the Cure of Central Virginia, Sophie House, Sisters Network-Richmond, and Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services.
