Sale completed on Nuckols Road site slated for grocery store

The Glen Allen tract, formerly owned by Ukrop’s Supermarkets, was sold for $8.1 million.

From the Richmond Times-Dispatch:

A development company has bought a 15-acre parcel off Nuckols Road in western Henrico County with plans for a high-end shopping center.

Construction of the new center is scheduled to begin in August, with completion of the first phase slated for the spring, according to Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer, the firm that represented the buyer, Nuckols Place VFI.

Plans call for a 90,000-square-foot shopping center to be known as NuckolsPlace. The property sits between Wyndham Forest Drive and Twin Hickory Road, across Nuckols Road from a Food Lion store.

The land was purchased from Ukrop’s Supermarkets, which originally planned to build a Ukrop’s store on the site before the sale of the company in 2009 to Royal Ahold, owner of Martin’s.
