Although Nile Ethiopian Restaurant is now closed, its menu lives on.
Richmond.com has the scoop on Portrait House, who transitions their menu to the cuisine of Nile Ethiopian Restaurant beginning this week:
If you stop by Portrait House in Carytown today, or any day this week, you might notice something different about the restaurant.
It won’t be the interior, or the stellar beer list, or even the staff… it’s the menu. Portrait House is rolling out a whole new menu and concept this week. Today is the first transition day and the restaurant will be serving a paired down version of its menu, but by the end of the week, the whole menu will be brought to you by the by the Nile, the Ethiopian restaurant that was on Laurel until yesterday.
Hamooda Shami, owner of New York Deli, Don’t Look Back, and Portrait House restaurants in Carytown, opened Portrait House in the former BlowToad in April 2013 and said the food concept had been a challenge from the very beginning.
