Police search for Wyndham stabbing suspect, later learn story was fabricated

Henrico Police launched a ground and air search for a stabbing suspect, but later learned the man who called 911 inflicted the wounds upon himself.

Residents of the Wyndham community in the Far West End were startled to see a police plane circling their neighborhood late Wednesday night, many making calls to the authorities and media.

Henrico Police launched the aerial search, along with officers on the ground, following a call from an adult male who claimed he had been stabbed by an individual wearing all black in the 11700 block of Park Forest Court around 9:45 PM.

Officers later learned that the individual fabricated the story and had, in fact, inflicted the wound upon himself.

The unnamed individual was taken to a nearby hospital and underwent surgery. His condition, as well as intentions, remain unknown.

I’d like to see that kind of response for a stabbing in the East End of Henrico.

Air rematch seems a little overboard, you don’t even see that when you have multiple shootings downtown or south side!
