Owner of Shepp’s Produce dies

The Mechanicsville resident loaded his truck at 4:30 AM and drove produce from his 100 acres to town.

From the Times-Dispatch obituary for Curtis Wayne Shepperson Sr.:

Eight months of the year, six days a week, the Mechanicsville resident loaded his truck at 4:30 a.m. and drove produce from his 100 acres to town, selling from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

He operated Shepp’s Produce, often with the help of his son Charlie at various locations, as development pushed him out. His last location was on the corner of Patterson and Libbie avenues.
