Military Times ranks Henrico Police Department among nation’s “Best for Vets”

The magazine named the Henrico department among the best in the nation for veterans for providing excellent service and assistance.

The Henrico County Police Division has earned top honors from a respected military publication. The department earned a spot in Military Times as part of the magazine’s “Best for Vets” ranking for 2015.

The Police Division is one of 24 agencies recognized across the United States for its efforts to connect with veterans and provide an environment for success.

The Henrico County Police Division’s Personnel Unit averages approximately 12 recruiting visits to military bases annually while working with Military Transition Officers and Career Services Units to recruit and hire veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Additionally, the Division’s Personnel Unit assists current members, who are being deployed or returning to duty, with the transition.

As with all of the “Best for Vets” rankings, “Best for Vets: Law Enforcement” is an editorially independent news project that evaluates the many factors that make an agency a good fit for military veterans and reservists.
