Bojangles Statue in Jackson Ward

On May 25, 1878, tap dancer and actor Bill “Bojangles” Robinson was born in Richmond. While the May date is more commonly listed as his birthday, the statue of Bojangles in at the corner of Leigh and Adam streets in Jackson Ward lists December 14, 1878 as his birthdate.
