Growlers To Go now offering free nitrogen for bikes

The popularity of bikes in the area and The Bike Bike Race™ prompted the addition.

Growlers to Go, the locally owned craft beer retailer, has started a new service at its store at 1017 N. Boulevard — free nitrogen fill-ups for your bicycle tires.

“We have the pressurized gas as part of our business,” owner Reid Carter said, “and a customer suggested we do it for bikes. … Nitrogen is supposed to be a little better for your tires than ordinary compressed air.”

He said the nitrogen hoses have fittings for both “regular Joe” bikes and high-end racing bicycles.

Nitrogen is supposedly better for bike tires than regular air. Who knew?
