1.9 million jobs in new energy.

Virginia and its localities should be doing more to embrace new, renewable energy.

This past week, former Mayoral candidate Paul Goldman and former Governor Allen jointly presented a proposal at the Richmond Crusade for Voters (btw, where was the rvanews coverage?) to change the law in order to use federal historic tax credits to renovate older public school buildings.

My point to them was why not take it up a notch and make sure older school buildings ALSO get solar panels. This is what other states like New Jersey are doing. Money made and saved from energy production from school roofs (including the summer when these buildings are underused) get put back into school renovation funds.

This is where Virginia and Richmond need to be headed, instead of running around with our heads cut off.
