Know anyone who’s making history? History Makers nominations are open!

Nominate individuals and organizations who are paving the way and making history happen.

Maybe you’ve heard, Richmond is interested in history. But the Valentine is also interested in Richmonders who will eventually be remembered for the things they’re doing today (perhaps remembered IN THEIR VERY MUSEUM?) (as wax figures?!) (just an idea).

Last year’s honorees included Richmond Cycling Corps, CARITAS, Clovia Lawrence, Bob Argabright, and Dorothy Gallamore–an impressive lineup to say the least.

Nominees should fall into one of the following categories (see site for more information):

  • Creating Quality Educational Opportunities
  • Demonstrating Innovative Solutions
  • Encouraging Regional Collaboration
  • Improving Social Justice
  • Promoting Stronger Communities

Nominations are due by June 30th, and honorees will be celebrated at the annual Richmond History Makers Celebration, which, traditionally, is a real blast. Trust us.

Go forth! Tell the Valentine who you love the most!
