Jazz Festival releases list of artists
Jazz hands are not required and in fact are discouraged.
The Richmond Jazz Festival won’t land on the Maymont ground until August 7th – 10th but you should consider getting your tickets early because this year it is not messing around. This will be the 5th year of the festival and I’m always impressed by how much of it I can hear from my backyard.
Artists performing this year include: Boz Scaggs, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Eric Benét, Boney James, Rick Braun, Euge Groove, Peter White, Down to the Bone, Earl Klugh, Cassandra Wilson, Christian McBride Trio, Bill Frisell, Dianne Reeves, “Sweet Poppa” Lou Donaldson, Tierney Sutton, Regina Carter, Sean Jones Quartet, Maceo Parker, Mary Mary, Blind Boys of Alabama, Cameo, Average White Band, Terri Lyne Carrington, Roy Ayers, Pedrito Martinez, Fred Wesley & the New JBs, Plunky & Oneness, Water Seed, Victor Haskins Trio.
You can buy your tickets here and the early bird rate which is good until June 15th gets you one day tickets for $70 and a weekend for $130.
