The Viceroy opened last night in the old Cafe Diem space at 600 North Sheppard Street:

[Owners Sean McClain and Dave Bender] felt the neighborhood needed a more upscale dining choice, The Viceroy, so they hired the well-reviewed and talented Chef Ryan Baldwin to create and execute the menu. Baldwin refers to the menu as “Rustic Eclectic”. He uses a creative approach to many classic concepts, while not being shy about taking chances and flashing a few of his own unique compositions. The bar boasts twenty beer taps leaning heavily towards local and national Craft beers, a painstakingly selected list of wines, and a full premium compliment of liquors and liqueurs. The goal is to provide a warm, inviting, top shelf dining experience without being pretentious or stuffy.

The Daily Kitchen and Bar plans to open tonight at 2934 West Cary Street in Carytown:

We strive to serve foods that are not only delicious but also health conscious, environmentally friendly and socially responsible. We use organic, all natural, local and sustainable ingredients as much as possible while still keeping our prices fair. In addition, we also offer an extensive selection of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free items.
