Linas Kojelis, Chairman of the Petersburg Republican Committee (PRC), announced that John Brownlee, Candidate for the GOP Nomination for Virginia Attorney General, will meet with city and area Republicans on Monday, January 19th at 6pm at the Ramada Plaza Hotel (Bistro Café), 380 E Washington St., in Petersburg. The meeting will include a presentation by Mr. Brownlee followed by questions and answers.
“Our committee has invited all three GOP candidates for Virginia Attorney General for an in-depth introduction to our city, to share with us their visions for the Commonwealth and to listen to the ideas and concerns of area Republicans,” explained Mr. Kojelis. “Our first guest is candidate John Brownlee, United States Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Western District of Virginia.”
Before the public meeting, the PRC has arranged a tour of the city for Mr. Brownlee, including historic Old Town, Route 36, Blandford, Delectable Heights, S. Crater Road and Walnut Hill. “We will introduce him to the serious challenges, successes and excellent opportunities of our city,” stated Mr. Kojelis. “Although no Republican statewide candidate expects a large percentage of votes from our city, our unit feels it is important for Petersburg to have good friends on both sides of the aisle in Richmond and Washington as out citizens unite for change and success.”
The three GOP candidates for Attorney General are John Brownlee, Dave Foster and Ken Cuccinelli. Each is campaigning for delegates to this year’s convention of the Republican Party of Virginia, taking place in Richmond on May 29-30, 2009. Delegates from Petersburg will be selected at the city’s Republican mass meeting this spring (TBA).
All Tri-Cities Republicans are welcome to the public meeting at the Ramada.
