richmond.com is reporting more problems at The Republic:

On Tuesday, Feb. 26 employees once again arrived at The Republic to find the locks changed and a notice for past-due taxes on the door. Over $100,000 in past-due taxes, according to sources.

Employees were unable to enter the building and management was not on site.

The restaurant closed for a week in July after a similar incident. Richmond BizSense recently reported that The Republic had continued to accrue tax debt even after the earlier problems.
