The new 5th District School Board representative Mamie Taylor has a small write-up on Friday’s 5CAT meeting:

The 5th District Community Action Team Meeting (5-CAT) was a tremendous success with an outstanding turnout last night. Many subject matters were tapped into, including city-wide sports in Richmnd Public Schools to enhance community pride, the renewal of the Patrick Henry Charter, discussion about the k-6 initiative (with more information forthcoming) the automatic renewal of CCP (that the board is looking into), Request for City Auditor Umesh Dalal looking over RPS’s budget, and budget deadlines pending with city council. There is a budget deadline coming up at 5pm on Monday, so please reach out to Parker Agelasto to extend your concerns in your community.

Our next meeting will be on February the 8th at the Roundhouse in Byrd Park -7pm. I do hope all can make it and please spread the word throughout the fifth district.

Both [5th District Councilman Parker Agelasto] and I were present at last night’s meeting and we’re both available to hear your concerns and convey them to our colleagues. Feel free to forward your E-mail address to receive updates and to add on to the future meeting agendas.
