Blake Stack has launched United5th, a last-minute campaign “asking Richmond residents to come together and support Parker Agelasto in his bid for the 5th district” City Council position and avoid the split opposition vote which helped Councilman Marty Jewell keep his seat in 2008.

In that election, like this year a 3-way contest, the two challengers together managed 4,927 votes (Brandon 3,048 / Shewmake 1,879) but neither could top Jewell’s 4,832 (49.2%).

While most of the local area is in the 1st District, the 5th District includes the area south of Floyd/Main/Ellwood and stretches across the river.
