Anybody who thought that the stellar play of junior Forsan Asad-Radwan (Amman, Jordan) was just a “flash in the pan” may want to rethink that theory. The third-year standout earned his second straight weekly honor, this time he was named CAA Player of the Week after leading the Virginia Commonwealth University men’s soccer team to a pair of crucial CAA victories.

Last week, his two goals against Hofstra earned him a spot on TopDrawerSoccer.com’s National Team of the Week.

With just 16 total appearances leading up to the Hofstra game on October 4th, Asad-Radwan responded at the opportunity to start by reeling off four goals in the three games since and helping the Rams to a 3-1 record in conference play and an overall mark of 7-4.

This past week, the James River graduate scored VCU’s lone goal in a thrilling 1-0 road win at James Madison. It was the first time all season the Dukes had been beaten at home.

He followed that up with a second-half goal against William & Mary that evened the game at 1-1, then he assisted on classmate’s Jorit Loehr (Bremen, Germany) in the second overtime to give the Black and Gold a pivotal 2-1 road win over the Tribe, which had previously been ranked No.19 in the NCAA RPI report.

Asad-Radwan now is tied for the team lead with four goals and sits third on the squad with nine points on the season.

“Forsan has been outstanding for us,” Head Coach Tim O’Sullivan said. “He has given us a constant source of energy and passion, which has ignited the whole team to play better.”

Asad-Radwan and his teammates are back in action Wednesday evening as they host the Seahawks of UNC Wilmington in a 7 p.m. contest at VCU’s Sports Backers Stadium.
