Watch out for summer showers — meteor showers that is.

You’ve probably looked up at the sky and said “Hey — there’s a shooting star.” But by the time others look up it’s already gone. Find out about meteors and how to best see next month’s Perseid Meteor Shower.

It’s all at the Science Museum ’s interactive planetarium show LiveSky — Friday, July 18, at 6 p.m. The Science Museum of Virginia is located at 2500 W. Broad St.

Astronomy Educators George and Jane Hastings show you which planets and constellations you can see in July. And they present what they call Rocks From Space — a look at meteors. Admission to LiveSky is free.

Join Richmond Astronomical Society members as they share their telescopes on the Science Museum front lawn for Sky Watch at 9 p.m. Sky Watch is free and held weather permitting.
