The 1st Hill Topper 5k Race runs on March 25, 2012. Registration will open February 3. The race will run through multiple sections of Church Hill, starting and finishing at the focal point of the Church Hill Irish Festival, at the corner of 25th and Broad Streets.
We are organizing a 5k run on residential streets and through four city parks, all in Church Hill. We intend to partner with St. Patrick’s annual Church Hill Irish Festival, which draws thousands of visitors and locals to the neighborhood. St. Patrick’s has successfully run the festival for decades, reinvesting proceeds in the community and collaborating with other community-based philanthropies. We believe the race will raise the profile of the festival, the neighborhood, and community health initiatives. All proceeds will be donated to the Robinson Theater Community Arts Center, which is a is a multi-purpose facility that exists to inspire, enable, and restore healthy community life to the residents of North Church Hill, primarily through arts-based programs. The race is proudly presented by the Church Hill Association.
The organizers are looking for both runners and volunteers to help run the race, hand out water, post race snacks, packet pick up etc.
